Business Owner : Natalie Baker


Natalie is the fourth generation of 'bakers' and was raised in a home where food was at the centre of everything they did.  Natalie trained in the legal sector and then spent 7 years in the banking sector reporting directly to executives (corporate finance, retail, strategy and finally project management division) before completing her MBA in 2006. 

Her passion for food kept her involved in event co-ordination and corporate functions on a part time basis.  She is a wife and mum to four kids, and her favourite past time is arts and crafts with them. 

Business Location

The business is based on the North Shore in Auckland and all produce is freshly baked on order.  I hold a food handlers certificate and bake products in a Council graded, A grade kitchen.  

Business Hours 

We are open for business from Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm, but feel free to shop online or to email us your request and we will contact you within 24 hours during the working week.


Health & Safety

We take health and safety seriously, and confirm that all produce is freshly baked on order.  All produce is prepared in an A grade kitchen, and I hold a food handlers certificate through the North Shore City Council, Registration Number FOD13693.

Delivery Process

You are welcome to pick up your order directly from our premises in Greenhithe, North Shore in Auckland.  If this is not possible, we can courier certain products to you, at your own risk due to the fragile nature of icing.  For weddings and special occasions, I prefer to deliver cakes personally and set it up for you.

Pricing

Each cake is custom designed to suit your personal requirements so it is difficult to provide a fixed price list for every cake. Flowers and figurines are handcrafted with a special edible sugar paste so labour costs need to be calculated when preparing the quotation for you.  Our motto is that we will offer you a cake to suit any budget, ranging between $80 for simpler styles through to $350 for larger or more complex cakes.  If you require life size cakes then prices could reach $1000 plus.

Cake Flavours

There are many flavours to choose from and we welcome your suggestions - our standard range offers you the choice between chocolate mudcake, vanilla, carrot cake, moist orange, banana, and fruit cake.  Special diets can be catered for on request. 

Nut Free / Gluten Free Products

We cannot guarantee 'nut free' as almost all products today carry warnings with regard to trace nut elements. We do take special dietary requirements seriously and every care is given in producing a nut free cake and are happy to list all ingredients used. We also have gluten free cakes in our range. 

Booking & Payment Policy

Deposit - A 60% Deposit is required to secure the date of the function.

Cancellations – Orders cancelled within 6 months of the function date result in an automatic forfeit of your full deposit.  Orders cancelled prior to 6 months will have the deposit refunded, less a $60 administration fee.

Final Payment Arrangements – The final balance is due one week before collection.  If paying cheque it must be received 2 weeks before collection.

Returns & Customer Service 

Cake decorating can be fragile and we cannot be held liable after delivery/pick up of the cake. However, should any item purchased be damaged in transit, please contact our offices immediately so that we can try and assist you wherever possible.  Please do not put your cake in the fridge as this will ruin the fondant icing. If you have any suggestions about our website or services, please contact us at our address below or by email at natalie@marziann.co.nz.
